Where is Google Latitude for the iPhone?

Ok I know it takes a while for Apps to get approved in the app store but I won’t take that as an excuse from Google. Also I believe I saw a working version of the app on techcruch a few months ago and it was using mobile safari browser on iPhone 3.0 OS. So Google, where is Google Latitude for the iPhone? Is it coming in the upcoming iPhone 3.0.1 update?

I’m usually patient about app updates but for latitude, I really thought we would have seen it out by now. I mean latitude already works on blackberry phones and there is that Apple / Google partnership thing going on right?

Also there are multiple ways Google could add latitude support for the iPhone. They could make it work with mobile safari, or google earth or the iPhone google app itself.

Come on Google give us latitude… please!

Valentine or the NBA on your iPhone?

I hope everyone had a great valentine’s day. Did you download one of the few valentine iPhone apps to create an iPhone heart to email to send to that special someone or if you’re a NBA fan and you have a special someone to take out to dinner tonight you may want to download the NBA All Star app so you can keep up with all of the weekend activites. Lucky for me the wife and I decided to stay home and watch the NBA all star weekend shows together, then watch a movie later.

Still I wanted to check out the NBA all star app in the app store.

The NBA all star app links to the live videos showing behind the scene action, plus links to past all star weekend videos. The NBA app has a cool mini video preview window at the top right that gives the app a unique kind of picture in picture feature.

Take a look at the screen shots.

Google week: Are you reading books on your iphone?

What a week it has been for google, first google latitude, then google books and now dual windows in gmail with labels. I’m all for google latitude and dual gmail windows but I’m wondering how many people are reading web based books on their iPhone.

I shouldn’t be suprised if people are reading books on the iphone as some could say to me, how many people are writing blog post on their iPhone.

What are your thoughts on google books? Have you read a book on your iphone before?

The Linkedin iPhone app needs an upgrade

I’m now finding myself using the Facebook iPhone a lot more recently and was looking at the Linkedin iPhone app the other day thinking how much I don’t use it. The Linkedin app is basically a status reader with a profile search that has limited features. I can’t check my inbox, approve new connections or access groups in the app either. Even the good old MySpace iPhone app has more features than the Linked app. There’s a few screenshots below. Do you use the Linkedin iPhone app? If so how?

Day 4: Still no word from ma.gnolia.com

It’s day 4 and still no word from http://ma.gnolia.com/ about their data loss that happened on Friday. Yes, I’m one of their sad users but I’m really hoping for the best because I had some very important bookmarks saved with them.

I woke up this morning checking the site out and their Twitter account for an update on my iPhone, but still saw the same message from Friday. I really hope they post some good news today. Good luck http://ma.gnolia.com !

Non iPhone update: Ma.gnolia posted this message to twitter 11 min. ago.

Is BuddyFeed the best iPhone FriendFeed app?

If you want to use friendfeed on your iPhone there’s a few options, one the mobile friendfeed site or two a native iPhone app. I’ve used the mobile site a few times but I wanted a native app and was happy to see BuddyFeed when it showed up in the app store a few weeks ago.

Here are some screenshots of the app.

How do you access friendfeed on your mobile device?
